IN YOUR ORCHARD

communicate responsible production to markets and consumers. The Triple Diamond level of OSIP recognizes top-performing growers who implement advanced stewardship practices. Triple Diamond growers receive a $1,000 base payment, plus $0.01 per pound of almonds delivered. This makes Triple Diamond the highest paying OSIP tier, with increased per-pound returns tied directly to production volume. To obtain Triple Diamond, growers must: • Complete the California Almond Stewardship Platform (CASP) assessment, covering orchard setup, business management, and orchard practices. • Enroll in Pollinator Partnership’s Bee Friendly Farming (BFF) Program and achieve BFF third tier. To achieve the third tier of the BFF Program, growers must be able to demonstrate that they have incorporated all key components of pollinator habitat

and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on their farm. These key components are described in detail in the BFF Handbook (bit.ly/BFFhandbook). Requirements: 1. Offer forage providing good nutrition for bees on at least 3% of cropped land. 2. Provide an average of two blooming species of plants per season from early spring to summer, and into late autumn. 3. Incorporate permanent pollinator habitat, which contains pollinator forage features, equivalent to 0.5% of total cropped area. 4. Offer clean water for bees when managed honey bees are present on site, if uninhibited by government-mandated water restrictions.
