Rugby: Rookie Rugby • AGES 7-10 Rugby Combines the best attributes of American football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse and so many other sports. The program is designed to welcome kids to the sport, providing an introduction into the basics of the game in a non-contact format. No prior playing experience is necessary. Safety and enjoyment are the top priorities. USA Rugby qualified coaches will work with participants to teach positions and rules, while developing skills in passing, tackling, rucking, mauling, scrums, and lineouts to allow for full enjoyment in a safe environment. Participants will have the option to participate in non-contact (touch) games at the Rugby Illinois and Rugby Festivals. Up to 7 festivals are expected and usually played on Sundays within a 1 hour drive of Naperville. Each participant will be provided shorts, socks, and a Crusaders T-shirt. Cleats and a mouth guard are required. Fee includes Rugby Illinois and USA Rugby memberships which are mandatory to play competitive rugby in the USA. During the first part of the lesson, parents assist their child using the ABCs - agility, balance and coordination - using fun, tennis-based activities. Children learn basic tennis skills utilizing the USTA’s 10-and-under tennis pathway on smaller courts using special racquets and red tennis balls. The second part of the lesson is dedicated to play; first with the child playing with the parent and later playing against other children with the parents as coaches. Children use our special mini racquets; regulation racquets are provided for parents. Fee is per couple; one parent per child registered. In case of rain, up to two makeups are scheduled. Tennis: Little Aces Red Ball • AGES 4-8 Introduce your kids to a lifetime of tennis fun. We focus on the ABCs - agility, balance and coordination - using a variety of games, contests and other fun activities. Children learn basic tennis skills utilizing the USTA’s 10-and-under tennis pathway on smaller courts using special racquets and red tennis balls. Children must wear tennis shoes; racquets are provided. If classes are canceled due to weather, up to two makeups will be scheduled. This program transitions kids who have completed at least one Red Ball program to the next level and a larger court. We focus on the ABCs - agility, balance and coordination - using a variety of games, contests and other fun activities. Children learn basic tennis skills utilizing the USTA’s 10-and-under tennis pathway on smaller courts using special racquets. Beginning with red tennis balls on the 36’ tennis court, play will transition to the orange ball and the 60’ court during the latter part of the session. Children must wear tennis shoes; racquets are provided. If classes are canceled due to weather, up to two makeups will be scheduled.
