July is often the sunniest month of the year here in Michigan, making it the perfect time to get out and play some golf. For many of us, there’s no better feeling than standing in the tee box on a weekend morning before driving the ball down the fairway. We’re fortunate to have so many beautiful golf courses in our area that expertly use bunkers and water hazards to create a challenging experience for beginners and veterans alike. If you’re looking to create some unforgettable golf memories this summer, we’re here to help! Below are some of the best courses to check out around Metro Detroit. SHEPHERD’S HOLLOW GOLF CLUB — CLARKSTON Year after year, this course is voted one of the best golf courses in Metro Detroit. There are three different nine- hole courses here, giving you 27 holes to enjoy. Located within a wooded area and
surrounded by fields, you’ll have a hard time believing you’re still in Southeastern Michigan. Unbelievable scenery, a gorgeous clubhouse, and plenty of water to avoid make this a must-play for any golfer. NORTHVILLE HILLS GOLF CLUB — NORTHVILLE Arnold Palmer is one of the most well- known names in golf, and Northville Hills is one of two courses he designed in our area. What really sets this club apart from the rest is the attention to detail. The course is beautifully maintained, and the staff tries to accommodate as much as they can. THE MAJESTIC AT LAKE WALDEN The Majestic at Lake Walden is a little further from the city than the other courses, but well worth the visit. You'll love the views with pine trees that run the fairways and deer spotted throughout. Many who tee off there claim the environment makes you feel like you’re playing in Northern Michigan.
If you notice sweat or food stains on your golf attire after your round, you can stop by Janet Davis Cleaners to get them cleaned. Deion Sanders famously said, “If you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you play good.” That goes for golf, too, so make sure your golf clothes are clean for your next round!

Matcha lovers unite! These matcha-covered strawberries are not only delectable but also ridiculously easy to make. Matcha-Covered Strawberries
INGREDIENTS • 1 ¼ cups chopped white chocolate • 1 tsp matcha powder, ceremonial grade
• 14 fresh strawberries, rinsed and patted dry
DIRECTIONS 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. 2. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the white chocolate in 15–20-second intervals, stirring in between until it's completely melted. 3. Add matcha powder to the melted white chocolate and stir until thoroughly mixed. Hold a strawberry by its leaves and dip it into the matcha chocolate mixture until it’s almost entirely covered. Shake off any excess chocolate, then place the matcha-covered strawberry on a baking sheet and let it harden. Repeat with remaining strawberries. 4. Fill a piping bag with leftover chocolate and drizzle strawberries with the chocolate. Let chocolate-covered strawberries completely harden at room temperature before gently peeling them off the parchment paper.
