Anne Arundel County Public Library Newsletter Winter 2025-26

Become a Literacy Champion: Set it, Forget it and Make a Real Impact For many, the joy of visiting the library comes from the freedom to explore and learn in your own way. Whether it’s storytime, reading 1,000 books before kindergarten, building with Rig-a-ma-jig, sewing, preserving memories in the memory lab, or finding a quiet space to study, lifelong learning for all ages — from babies to adults — thrives with steady support from literacy champions like you. Recurring giving is the easiest and most effective way to support your library. Weekly, monthly or quarterly gifts help meet critical needs and fuel learning across all ages. Since your gifts are processed automatically, you have peace of mind knowing you’re making a difference. Your annual gift already makes a difference — thank you! By switching to a recurring donation, you’ll help build a stronger, more connected community through the power of the library.

We are deeply grateful to Gold Partners Judy and David Marwell and Medicine With a Mission, whose generosity helps bring life-changing library programs to our community. For the Love of the Library, held on September 19, 2025, was an unforgettable evening of fun, philanthropy, and community! Guests enjoyed an energetic live auction and exciting paddle raise, along with the wine and whiskey pull, wrapped book pull and a raffle with fabulous prizes — all raising $162,000 for the library. The night featured our inspiring special guest NYT Author Brigid Kemmerer, a lively lineup of celebrity bartenders, and delicious catering by Palate Pleasers. Over 400 attendees also explored the library experience stations, including cardio drumming and Glowforge demos, Crofton Library's plant program and the memory lab, making for a truly memorable evening. With heartfelt gratitude and pride, we also honor all our partners for their support in bringing our mission to life.

I included the library in my will because it has been a lifelong love of mine. I still remember the joy I felt walking into the old library, now Reynolds Tavern, and I want to ensure that future generations have the same feeling each time they step through its doors. — Jane Campbell-Chambliss
