iPads All students in the Upper School will have an iPad assigned to them after participating in a mandatory training. (A parent must attend the training as well.) For Middle School or High School students who are coming to NB for the first time or who are starting sixth or ninth grade, please schedule your appointment with Alex Podchaski through nbps.org/ipadtraining . New Parent Welcome Breakfast As our way to welcome new NB parents into the family, the PSTA hosts a breakfast immediately prior to the start of the school year. This annual event gives the newest members of our community the opportunity to meet the NB leadership team and the PSTA Executive Board, as well as several Parent Ambassadors. The Upper School New Parent Welcome Breakfast will be Thursday, August 22 at 8:30 a.m. in the High School Student Union building. The Lower School New Parent Welcome Breakfast will be Friday, August 23 at 8 a.m. in the High School Student Union building. LS New Family Welcome and Back-to-School Orientation Families new to the Lower School are invited to attend the Lower School Orientation on Friday, August 23 beginning with breakfast at 8:45 a.m. (Registration begins at 8 a.m.) in the HSSU. Classroom visits and teacher welcome session for new families begin at 10 a.m. in Lower School classrooms. Returning families and students will join classroom visits from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Ambassador Programs A new school brings with it a fresh start, but it can also be the source of anxiety. Students worry about making friends, keeping up with their coursework, and even finding their classrooms. And us parents have our own worries too! The PSTA is committed to helping ease the transition to NB for both students and their parents. The Parent Ambassador Program brings new NB parents together with returning parents from the same division. The Parent Ambassadors answer questions, provide helpful hints and other pearls of wisdom to the incoming families. If you are new to NBPS and have not yet been contacted by your Parent Ambassador, please feel free to get the ball rolling by contacting the PSTA Vice President of New Family Relations, Nicole Salamon, at 954.663.2448 or pstaambassador@nbps.org .
