Automatic enrolment earnings thresholds 2014/15

The automatic enrolment thresholds have now completed the Parliamentary process and will come into effect from 6 April 2014.
The Automatic Enrolment (Earnings Trigger and Qualifying Earnings Band) Order 2014 confirms the annual thresholds and rounded figures by pay reference period as shown in the tables below.

TUPE changes to reduce automatic enrolment mismatch

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that employers inheriting staff on transfer will be able to pay pension contributions at the former company’s automatic enrolment rate. It means that businesses that receive workers on a Transfer of Undertakings and Protection of Employment (TUPE) basis will no longer have to pay up to 6% matching contributions, if the transferring company enrolled the employees at a lower rate.
