LGPS HR and Payroll guides

Updated versions of the HR and Payroll guides from the Local Government Association (LGA) have been published.
The updated guides have been uploaded to www.lgpsregs.org in web and PDF (both clean and tracked change) formats. The guides can also be found through the following links:

These updates have been made to incorporate amendments coming about from the publication last month of the LGPS (Transitional Provisions, Savings and Amendment) Regulations 2014. Previous LGPS updates can be found on our website News pages and also under ‘Local Government Pensions’ within the CIPP Policy News Journal (left hand menu under News ). Governance consultation on LGPS

The Department for Communities and Local Government has launched a consultation on draft governance regulations for the 2014 Local Government Pension Scheme
The consultation document seeks views on a proposed governance scheme for the LGPS by 15 August 2014. The proposal envisages setting up local pension boards with both members and employers by 1 April 2015. Part of their responsibilities would include helping administering authorities to comply with The Pensions Regulator (TPR).
Public Service Pension Reform – response to consultation

The government has published a document summarising the responses received to the consultation on proposed new record-keeping and other obligations ahead of the April 2015 start date.
The government response sets out the views received, and clarifies how the Government will now take the proposals forward.
