Health and Work Service Tendering Exercise

Following a successful tendering exercise, Health Management Limited, a Maximus company has been appointed to deliver the new Health and Work Service in England and Wales. The Health and Work Service in Scotland will be delivered by the Scottish Government and will provide the same core service as delivered in England and Wales.

The Service will make health and work expertise and occupational health assessments more widely available to all GPs, employers and employees via:

an occupational health assessment, offered to employees who have reached, or are expected to reach, four weeks' sickness absence; and a web based and telephone advice service providing general health and work advice, which will be available to all, including employees, employers and GPs.

The contract for the Government's new Health and Work service (the Service) has been awarded to Health Management Limited (HML), a subsidiary of Maximus, one of the largest occupational health providers in the UK.
