Update on Agent Online Self Serve

HMRC have issued a further update on the introduction of digital self service for agents.
The latest announcement from HMRC indicates that this proposed news service will be made available for testing by a small number of agents by the end of the year.
HMRC agent toolkits updated

HMRC have now completed their annual update of most of the twenty agent toolkits. Each toolkit focuses on the most commonly seen errors made when completing returns and gives tips on how to avoid them. Eighteen of the twenty toolkits have recently been updated, including all those of relevance to employer returns. Those of most interest to the payroll profession will perhaps be the toolkits covering national insurance and statutory payments, directors’ loan accounts, and expenses and benefits.

Update 43 includes updates on various consultations and changes to legislation and HMRC services. There is a specific introduction to HMRC’s agents’ blog which is provng a very useful continuing source of news for the agent community.
