SMART MELAKA COMPONENTS There are seven components identified for Smart Melaka 2035, i.e., smart government, smart economy, smart digital infrastructure, smart mobility, smart community, smart living, and smart environment. The characteristics of each component are described below.

SMART GOVERNMENT

Adoption of operations and administration practices that improves efficiency and performance in providing services to citizens. It features open data and information disclosure, and inter-agency data sharing.

SMART ECONOMY

A favourable environment for economic growth that may, overcome the economic challenges, create new job opportunities and able to establish new and productive technology businesses which are regionally innovative, attractive, and competitive. Its high productivity and competitiveness are driven by technology innovation under the circular and digital economy leading towards more sustainable economic eco-system that will attract future direct investment.

SMART DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE

A Digital physical system that provides essential management of all elements comprises different technological tools to assemble and analyse data to meet efficiency, sustainability, and productivity. It offers comprehensive network coverage with high-speed internet and enhanced personal data protection and cyber-security mechanisms.

SMART MOBILITY

Integration of new and emerging solutions to enhance mobility to reduce road congestion. It offers faster, greener and cheaper transportation options for the public. Smart mobility provides alternative modes of travel and put emphasis on affordable transportation, whilst fostering sustainable lifestyles that are beneficial to the environment. It emphasises the seamlessness, safety, and affordability in various modes of connectivity.

SMART COMMUNITY

Connected citizens who embrace and deploy technology to enable economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. It aims to uphold good moral values within knowledge society, focus on inclusiveness through community empowerment and embrace talents with digital skills through life-long learning.

SMART LIVING

Lifestyles that are smart, safe, clean, healthy, and resilient. Smart living improves the quality of life and enriches the aesthetics of daily life in the city. Well-being is the priority with focus on neighbourhood safety and social security, as well as high quality and affordable health care services.

SMART ENVIRONMENT

Deployment of appropriate technologies in creating a more connected and comfortable urban environment, drawn from much-improved climate plans. Smart environment ensures that the built and natural environment provides the physical and mental well-being and all-round happiness of its habitants and helping to build a sustainable future. It aims to achieve total environment protection which covers the dimensions of environmental quality, sustainable resource management, disaster resilience at the state context and low carbon and green lifestyle at the individual level.
