Smart Government

The state government is responsible for creating and enforcing the rules of a society, to spearhead the direction of state development, and ensure the well-being of its citizens. Smart Melaka Government, aims to strengthen the connections and interactions between the government and all stakeholders (citizens, businesses, and other civil organisations) to support and increase the efficiency in public delivery services, following the ‘city as service’ model. Specifically, the strategies target at improving the accessibility, network infrastructure capacity, awareness, and readiness with efficient, and user-friendly applications. It also emphasises on enabling inter-agency data integration and data sharing to boost the speed, quality, and efficiency of government decision- making. The state government should leverage the big data analytic and digital technology to transform the conventional services into e-services covering the end-to-end services which are more inclusive and transparent.
