Dear ZERO Summit Attendees,

I’m thrilled to welcome you to the 2023 ZERO Prostate Cancer Summit! What started in 1996 as the March on Washington to establish direction and expansion of prostate cancer research funding now has become the premier, annual event to educate, support, and activate an ever-expanding prostate cancer community. If this is your first Summit with us, we welcome you with open arms and know you’ll find a home among the cause champions around you. Together, we strive to make sure no one faces prostate cancer alone. Year after year, our Summit is one of my favorite events. Attendees come away with new knowledge, lifelong friendships, and passion and purpose for the cause. The Summit gives you the opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and inspire. Below are some of this year’s Summit highlights you won’t want to miss. On Sunday, help us celebrate the inspiring and remarkable ZERO Champions and partners who have gone above and beyond in their support of the prostate cancer community at the Bold for Blue Awards. This special event will also be livestreamed for our virtual audience to join us. On Monday, I’ll share some exciting ZERO news, and then we’ll learn the latest on prostate cancer topics from the leading experts in the field. Topics will include emerging technologies in prostate cancer, disease misinformation, treatment updates, clinical trials, establishing health equity, achieving sexual health, side effect mitigation, advances in genetics and genomics, and much more. On Tuesday, a well-trained, ready, and primed group of advocates will attend Capitol Hill meetings in an effort to advance prostate cancer research and access to care. The rest of our Summit attendees will have access to educational sessions covering a variety of

topics, including how to manage health insurance and finances while facing cancer, the impacts of fitness, PSMA and the imaging landscape, facing emotional side effects, and resources for caregivers. The Summit is a place of togetherness and belonging. It is where you see old friends and quickly make

new ones. It is where leaders emerge and shine to help us get one step closer to ZERO Prostate Cancer. I’m delighted to have you as part of our community of changemakers and leaders tirelessly working to improve the lives of all those affected by prostate cancer. As I conclude my 21-year tenure at ZERO this summer, it has been the honor of a lifetime to serve you and the prostate cancer community. Along the way, there have been countless stories and people who have inspired me. I hold all of them close to my heart. Now that we’re back in person, I can’t wait to connect with you and make some new memories together. Thank you for joining our community and shared cause. Together, we are an unstoppable force. With gratitude,

Jamie Bearse President and CEO @jamiebearse

You Can Help Patients in Need: Make Sure No One Fights Alone

Introducing the Jamie Bearse Patient Emergency Fund

With prostate cancer cases projected to increase again this year, the need for your help is greater than ever. In the past 12 months, the demand for ZERO’s support services to help patients and their families has more than doubled. It is unacceptable that so many patients in need are falling through the cracks because of financial barriers to the life- saving care they deserve. To address the growing needs of patients and families, ZERO is establishing the Jamie Bearse Patient Emergency Fund to directly fund patient support programs like ZERO360. In celebration of ZERO President and CEO Jamie Bearse’s leadership and the significant progress he has led to support patients and families, this new fund will provide prostate cancer patients in desperate need with critical, life-saving support. One of the beneficiaries of ZERO360 is ZERO Champion, Ted Healy. When Ted was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, he was facing a heartbreaking choice: expensive treatments that would extend his life or financial ruin. ZERO360, a comprehensive patient support program, was there to answer his call.

TED HEALY ZERO Champion

“My prostate cancer diagnosis was terrifying. Just as scary was the decision between life-saving treatments and financial stability. Thanks to ZERO360 and donors like you, I didn’t have to choose.”

Your support of this fund will be dedicated to: • Providing personalized assistance in managing the practical and personal challenges of prostate cancer. These services include financial aid, insurance navigation, emotional support, benefit enrollment, and more. • Bridging the gap between racial and health disparities in prostate cancer. Where you live, the color of your skin, or the size of your paycheck shouldn’t determine whether you get quality care in a cancer crisis. No patient should choose between financial ruin and life-saving treatments and support. When you support the Jamie Bearse Patient Emergency Fund, you help ensure patients in need are not alone.

Donate to help patients through the Jamie Bearse Patient Emergency Fund:
