Knowledge & Experience:

• It is essential that the postholder holds a professional qualification in at least one of the key technical disciplines of Engineering, Chartered Surveying, Property Management, or Estates, Facilities Management. • It is also desirable that the postholder has a degree in one of the specialisms. • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the organisational synergies of the key business areas of the post’s responsibilities and their relationship and interaction with other business areas of the Force. The work requires extensive knowledge of project management, construction and architecture. The postholder also requires a full understanding of the different operational activities and special units within the Force, including their operating environment and needs. • A proven track record of managing at a senior level including experience of managing a large workforce (150+) across multiple sites and functions. • Extensive knowledge and practical implementation of lean process methodology and process re-engineering. • Must have proven ability to deliver results through people. Must be financially astute and commercially aware. • Detailed knowledge of national police contract and procurement procedures. • Previous employment experience in the supplier marketplace of at least one of areas of business specials. • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands. The post does not require or carry any Police Powers.
