SPECIES OF GREATEST CONSERVATION NEED SURVEYS - REPTILES W armer weather in March sent staff into the field searching for SGCN snakes and lizards. Staff often target areas that have recently received prescribed fire as tree stumps are more readily visible and thus more easily assessed in these more open landscapes, along with the snakes and lizards that often reside within them. Species detected during surveys included Carolina Pigmy Rattlesnake, Timber Rattlesnake, and Mole Kingsnake.
