Riley Children’s Health is committed to providing exceptional and comprehensive pediatric primary care. Our program is anchored by the general and community pediatrics division of Indiana University School of Medicine. In addition, board certified pediatricians with Riley Children’s see patients in offices across Indiana. Our primary care teams focus on meeting the highest quality, safety, educational and care standards. GENERAL PEDIATRICS AND PEDIATRIC PRIMARY CARE

Specialized programs Early Autism Evaluation Hub

This statewide network trains and sponsors primary care clinicians to deliver early diagnoses for autism in children ages 18 to 48 months. In 2023, primary care physicians across multiple health systems in Indiana evaluated approximately 1,026 children for autism. Center for Youth and Adults with Conditions of Childhood Serving youth ages 11 to 22 with complex medical needs, this center trains healthcare teams across Indiana in healthcare processes related to the transition to adulthood. The program annually supports more than 300 youth and young adults with special health needs and complex disabilities. Early Years This multidisciplinary program supports babies with complex medical needs in transitioning from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to outpatient care. Riley general pediatricians partner with specialists to facilitate these programs. Early Years programming includes the Infant Growth and Development Program , supporting more than 150 infants each month who are discharged from the NICU with feeding challenges. The Infant Breathing Program supports the developmental needs of children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Pediatric Integrated Behavioral Health Program Launched in 2023 in two Riley primary care practices, this program integrates behavioral health services into pediatric and family medicine practices to address issues such as anxiety, depression and misbehavior in children and adolescents, ages 5 to 17. Using an evidence-based behavioral health intervention called FIRST, counselors at Riley Children’s facilitated 270 visits in 2023 with 114 children referred for care. The program has expanded to 17 additional sites in 2024, with plans to add more practices in 2025. Reach Out & Read Riley Children’s participates in this national program, which gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud.

Riley pediatricians are located in 12 communities across Indiana.

Our practices participate in Vaccines for Children , a federal program that provides childhood vaccines to families who are unable to pay for them.

■ Robust referral stream to more than 40 specialties within Riley Children’s

A number of primary care practices at Riley Children’s participate in the Indiana Complex Care Coordination Collaborative funded by Indiana Medicaid. The IU School of Medicine coaching and technical assistance team provides training and resources to primary care nurses embedded in six different health systems and serves more than 600 children in Indiana.
