Dividend–paying hope is hard to come by these days what with greed and I swear lately Even evil seems a common consequence, itself sowing seeds of Fear–– Haven’t we long known that Greed and gluttony serve only as gateways to Hell? If we’re lucky, sometimes also to intimate encounters that warrant Just initiatives, justice-seekers, justice-needers, Keepers of more optimism than hope, perhaps. bell hooks preached Love. A Magnificent and Necessary Orientation for Pedagogy that could––in fact–– Quiet the Roiling, boiling Sweat that pours from my Tender heart Until I feel empty. Both Voracious and vacuous, Xenophobic greed breeds sycophancy and I want to scream, “Yellow-bellied cowardly Zealot!” with zest and zeal for the amorphous and lately anomalous aspirations for, well, for action.
