Acme Corrugated Participates In Local ‘Cardboard Classic’
winners in two categories: Fastest Sled and Favorite Fail. Over 100 sleds participated in the event, all of which were made only from corrugated board, tape, glue and string. In addition to the trophies, Acme also created the sled that kicked off the event. Since WMMR is a Classic Rock format, Acme designed its sled in honor of the Flying V Guitar and VOX Speaker, the guitar and speaker used by many rock & roll legends over the years. The team also
Hatboro, Pennsylvania based Acme Corrugated recently sponsored a unique event which celebrated the creative uses of corrugated. The Preston & Steve Cardboard Clas- sic was hosted by radio station WMMR (93.3 FM) on March
6 and is named for the Preston and Steve Show, the num- ber one morning show in the Philadelphia market. The event attracted over 7,500 people to Jack Frost Mountain in the Poconos. It was the first time in the event’s 15-year history a corrugated manufacturer had been a sponsor. Acme’s innovative design team created life-size trophies that were awarded to first, second and third place
designed a backdrop for the event’s selfie station, where many pictures were taken and posted on social media. Acme unveiled the trophies and sled to everyone in the company prior to the event and handed out team hats to all. On the day of the event, Acme’s 40 team members were on the mountain proudly wearing the hats and hand- ing them out to scores of attendees.
