INTERACT Digitally With so many working remotely for the first time, digital interaction is more important than ever. While email and phone is still the most common way we communicate, many are turning to video conferencing. For some, includ- ing myself, it can be uncomfortable and daunting at times. Between finding a professionally-presentable and quiet place to conduct the call, and having to dress from the

waist up, it’s a lot of new territory to navigate. That said, it’s become an important communication tool, allowing us to add a personal dimension to the conversation; it’s much easier to communicate and interact when we see each other. An early challenge is simply finding the right tool. From GoToMeeting to WhatsApp, the solutions are endless. Our company recently turned to the popular Zoom app as it works seamlessly on PC and phones or tablets. It’s intui- tive, and also allows you to seamlessly record meetings or presentations that can later be shared on social or internal communication channels. Speaking of social, now is the time to ramp up your multi-channel efforts. The network connections have been unstable for a reason -- everyone is online right now, in- cluding our friends here at Board Converting News ! If you want to get in front of your customers, get creative with your digital strategy. And if you don’t have a strategy, now is a good time to develop and implement one. Keeping a steady stream of content out can seem challenging but lean on your peers. Some of those folks working from home might enjoy participating in your social media activities, so engage your community to generate content. (And let’s be honest, who hasn’t been curious about seeing where our coworkers and customers live!) During this challenging time, getting to know our peers better and share our lives more fully is a necessary tonic.
