Launch Skillsville! TPT’s new children’s series explores different careers through a virtual reality video game

From the neon-lit city streets to the whimsical characters like Scout and the Beeples, every detail was designed to spark curiosity and maximize the fun. We also made intentional choices with our main characters to reflect the diversity of our audience, including a character that is a wheelchair user — so every child watching can see themselves as a problem-solver, a leader, or a future innovator. We hope kids not only enjoy exploring 'Skillsville' but also start to see a world of career possibilities they may never have considered before.” says Carol-Lynn Parente, “Skillsville” Co- Creator and Executive Producer. Impact of Education Programming Throughout their journeys in “Skillsville”, our characters explore a variety of careers that keep their city functioning smoothly. Presented with unique challenges related to their job, our characters practice different success skills to overcome their obstacles. During these challenges, they try different strategies to reset and figure out new ways to tackle the tasks ahead of them. Just like the characters in the series, “Skillsville” helps children in early elementary grades explore important learning areas like career exploration, executive function skills, and self-regulation strategies. “We can’t predict the careers that will exist 20 years from now for our young learners. What we can do is provide them with the strategies and skills they need to succeed right now in school that will help

Introducing “Skillsville” Cora, Dev, and Rae are 8-year-old friends who love hanging out together. But when Cora’s game designer mom asks them to test out her new virtual reality video game, the three friends get to take their playtime to a whole new level. The game is called “Skillsville!” “Skillsville” is a new children's series from TPT that follows a young trio of gamers as they launch into a videogame world where they manage a virtual city populated by a host of characters like Scout, their part dog, part dragonfly assistant, and Beeples, the city’s friendly residents. Featuring many of the visual elements you would find in a video game adventure, the setting of “Skillsville” is designed to resonate with a generation of learners who are increasingly selecting video games as their preferred choice
