2021 AWARDS CEREMONY RECOGNISED THE AMAZING ACHIEVEMENTS OF NORTHERN IRELAND’S PLUMBING & HEATING INDUSTRY... Celebrating the best of our industry

W e were thrilled to host the first-ever virtual edition of Northern Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards in June. Sponsored by Flogas, the awards were broadcast across Plumbing & Heating Magazine’s YouTube and social media channels and hosted by Northern Ireland’s best loved presenter, Adrian Logan. This year’s award ceremony recognised the top plumbing & heating contractors, consultants, suppliers, people, products and projects from across Northern Ireland. Contractors like Dowds Group and Vaughan Engineering Services won over the judges with the quality of their work on some spectacular projects, while products such as the Prefabricated Utility Cupboard from Alternative Heat and the Quartz Smart Shower from Aqualisa Products delivered the latest in technological innovation. Leading merchants from across NI like Bassetts, KE Plumbing Supplies and PTS Ireland proved that, even

during turbulent times, they will always be willing to go the extra mile to supply customers with the first-class service and products they require. Individual achievements were also celebrated, such as Chris Dawson from CD Plumbing & Gas Services, who was the inaugural winner of the Catherine Patterson Award for the best up-and-coming Gas Installer, as well as our Apprentices of the Year, Adam Coomber and Luke McBride, whom our judges agreed had very bright futures ahead of them in the industry. As usual, an independent panel of industry experts was given the complicated task of singling out winners from an outstanding calibre of entries for each category. However, when it came to presenting the 2021 Overall Achievement Award, there was one name that immediately came to mind as someone we all agreed was a fantastic ambassador for Northern Ireland’s plumbing and heating industry.

Hugh McWilliams, co-founder of H&A Mechanical Services along with his wife Anne, was an exceptional figure in the industry and we were honoured to be able to present the 2021 Overall Achievement Award to his family and colleagues. The countdown now begins towards the Virtual Experience of Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards in December 2021, after which Northern Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards will return in 2022 for what we hope will be a traditional awards ceremony allowing us to celebrate together in person. Until then, we would like to take this final opportunity to congratulate all of our winners and to thank all of those who took the time to enter, as well as our sponsors who made the event possible - a massive thanks to you all!
