Possess a degree level qualification in building surveying or a related ubject and/or professional qualification (e.g. MRICS or MCIOB)
Good working knowledge of the Building Regulations, relevant statutory egislation and codes of practice, CDM regulations, JCT and other standard orms of contract; relevant health and safety legislation and practice. Good computer skills (experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and roject). Excellent communication skills, including report writing, production of usiness cases, presentational material. Good design flair and the ability to produce exciting, appropriate and uild-able design solutions. Significant and demonstrable recent post qualification experience in uilding surveying, including the provision of a full design, project and inancial management service for building maintenance and minor projects individual values in excess of £500k). Significant and demonstrable recent experience in the project and inancial management of complex building schemes, with a value up to 5m. Experience of working as an “informed client” in the HE sector, or other imilar large and complex organisation. Significant and demonstrable recent experience supervising building urveying or other building-related technical staff. Recent experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment and orking effectively leading and participating as a member of multi- isciplinary teams. Experience of working within an accredited QA system. A collaborative personality, with excellent negotiating skills. The post older is expected to exercise judgement and confidentiality, be pro-active nd have the necessary confidence to interact appropriately with a wide ange of people, both internal and external, at all levels. The ability to take n a wide range of responsibilities and to work to tight deadlines is ssential. Flexible attitude and able to work on own initiative.
