University of Exeter - Senior Building Surveyor

Working at the University of Exeter To help achieve our vision of being one of the world’s leading universities, we want to build a world class workforce. To support this we want to enable our managers to build flexible teams whilst creating a positive working environment in which all our staff can thrive. In 2018 we rolled out sector leading benefits where Maternity, Adoption and Shared Parental pay increased to 26 weeks full pay; Paternity leave and pay was extended to up to six weeks full pay; and a new Fertility Treatment policy was introduced providing up to five days of paid leave and two days for partners. All these are available from day one of employment. In addition to these we have a variety of flexible working options for our staff. We offer many other excellent facilities and benefits for staff, including our Staff Life programme which offers social events, wellbeing programmes and events, membership to special interest groups and a range of discount benefits.

Other benefits include: • Car leasing and cycle to work scheme, bus pass scheme and rail ticket interest-free loan; • A Family Centre on the Streatham Campus and a Nursery on the Penryn Campus, as well as a childcare voucher scheme; • A confidential 24 hour counselling and advice service to all staff; • State-of-the-art fitness centres on three University campuses; • Campus running routes; • Pool bike scheme to help travel sustainably to and from meetings across campuses; • Walking routes, including the sculpture walk, and guided campus walks; • Paid Community Challenge Day for all staff; • Northcott Theatre is on our Streatham Campus site; • Complementary therapy practitioners offer reduced priced sessions; • Chaplaincy. Sustainability We have a dedicated sustainability team at the University and it is an area that is very impor- tant to our staff and students. We want to lead by example, transforming our institution to be both flourishing and sustainable, and continue to produce generations of graduates and staff who are agents of positive environmental change. Our Environment Sustainability Strategy (2015- 2020) is to facilitate the integration of sustain- ability activities relating to education, research and operations. This will ensure that our on-campus operations are sustainable and as an organisation we are able to demonstrate that we “walk the talk”.
