RESEARCHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

PRACTICE INQUIRY ONLINE DROP-IN The Practice Inquiry Online Drop-In sessions were popular in 2021. These sessions were held via Skype and were attended by 110 attendees in 2021. The sessions are designed to support nursing and midwifery researchers and provide opportunity to discuss research ideas or concerns, for nurses and midwives to present research outcomes, share research resources and networking.

THE HEALTH INFORMATICS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM The COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges due to clinical demands and social distancing practices. The Health Informatics Mentorship Program was developed by Professor Fry and supported through a grant from the NSW Ministry of Health Nursing and Midwifery Office. The program was designed to build novice clinicians’ confidence to translate research evidence into practice and strengthen skills and confidence to pursue evidence based practice research. The participants were exposed to a range of activities to support the development of clinical leadership including project management, and collecting and exploring clinical data, grant writing, and ethics applications. The program supported research training to develop skills and capacity to undertake rigorous enquiry into practice. CLINICAL RESEARCHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The program involved five two-hour workshops delivered to 138 participants throughout 2021. Participants included nursing, midwifery, allied health, medical, and pharmacy staff across the LHD. In addition, sessions were conducted for the University of Technology Sydney and The University of Sydney. • Translating research into practice • Exploring the research question and research design

RESEARCH MASTER CLASSES A total of 192 participants attended these master classes in 2021. Participants included nursing, midwifery, allied health, medical, pharmacy and administrative staff across the LHD.
