GOD'S READINESS

A S AN INTERESTING study I Want to think with you about the things God is ready to do for us to day. The first is that He is ready to forgive. Psalm 86:5 tells us, “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive.” We have the mistaken idea that we have to make ourselves ready by be ing good. This will do nothing to bring forgiveness, no matter how gen erous, kind and gracious we may try to be. The Bible tells us, “If we con fess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” We do one thing, ask forgiveness, and God does two things, forgives our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteous ness. The Lord Jesus Christ went to Calvary so that by believing on Him you may have forgiveness. God never gets tired of our coming to Him. He is always ready to forgive us. He is ready to forgive us because the Lord Jesus Christ took our punishment. He bore our sins in His own body on the tree. It is for this reason that God is ready to forgive you. You may be under a burden of sin which you have committed. Go right to the Sav iour about it. He is your High Priest and Attorney if you are a Christian. God will freely pardon us. I t is interesting to know that one cannot buy a pardon. If you offered money to the judge for a pardon he would put you back in jail for bribery. A pardon has to come from a gracious person who has power to offer it. On a spiritual plain, only God can do this. You don’t beg for it; it comes as you admit your guilt and need. He will do the rest. He sees you in your helplessness and h o p e le s sn e s s and knows that you have no power in Jesus paid it all, All to him I owe, Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

yourself to find freedom. So, in His sovereign grace, He is ready to hand you a priceless gift. “There is there fore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.” The Sav iour, who gave His life for you, pro vides this. Will you have to pay for your own sins, or will you go free with the liberty that comes through Christ ? Our souls need to be saved from hell. Do you possess salvation? You can enjoy that precious experience when you turn to the Saviour and He gives you new life. God’s own nature is breathed in a person who loves the Saviour. He will put your name in the Book of Life. He takes away all your guilt and blots out your sins. The Saviour saves and keeps you from sin, heartbreak, and wandering. He keeps you from saying wrong things and doing wrong things. God is ready to judge because He has all of the evidence and knows all the details and sins. Let the Lord Jesus Christ be your Advocate and Saviour. Thereby will you find true peace and satisfac tion for your daily life.
