Delaware, Ohio based Greif, Inc. announced last week that it is implementing a $70 per ton price increase for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard (URB) and an 8.5 percent increase on all tube and core and protective packaging products. The uncoated recycled paperboard increase is effective with new orders and shipments on and after September 13, 2021. This is in addition to the $50 per ton price increase implemented on July 26, 2021. The tube and core and protective packaging products in- crease is effective with shipments on and after Septem- ber 24, 2021. This is in addition to the six percent price increase implemented on August 6, 2021. These price increases are in response to continued robust demand across the Greif paperboard network and ongoing cost pressures with raw materials, labor and transportation. GPI Recognized For Versatility At Ameristar Awards 2021 Atlanta, Georgia based Graphic Packaging International (GPI) is a four-time winner for its innovative fiber-based solutions in the Institute of Packaging Professionals’ Amer- iStar Awards 2021. We’re honored to receive these awards and pleased to be recognized in the Saves Food category, which highlights the relevance of innovative packaging in countering food waste.” In the Saves Food–Agriculture category, the winning Belle Harvest pack, made from 100 percent recyclable pa- perboard, is an alternative to plastic and a first for the fresh produce category. The unique upright structure effective- ly protects the delicate apples while enhancing branding opportunities by increasing billboarding space. The new sustainable packaging option reflects Belle Harvest’s be- lief in providing healthy food delivered in a way that is kind to the planet.
