EMERGENCY REPORTING AND EVACUATION PROCEDURES A sudden, unexpected, or impending situation that may cause injury, loss of life, serious property damage and / or interference with normal activities of the business, which, therefore, requires immediate attention and remedial work. Types of emergencies to be reported by site personnel are: • MEDICAL • FIRE • SEVERE WEATHER • BOMB THREAT • CHEMICAL SPILL • STRUCTURE DAMAGE • EXTENDED POWER LOSS (Greater than 2 hours) • OTHER: For example - Terrorist attack/Hostage taking All Incidents / Accidents / Evacuations should be logged via ASW accident/incident management system.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY

Call medical emergency phone number 9 999. Provide the following information: a. Nature of medical emergency,

Do not move the injured person unless necessary.

Refer to the current First Aiders information poster displayed on site.
• If personnel trained in First Aid are not available, as a minimum, attempt to provide the following assistance: 1. Stop the bleeding with firm pressure on the wounds (note: avoid contact with blood or other bodily fluids). 2. Clear the air passages using the Heimlich Maneuver in case of choking. 3. A defib is held within outside the first aid room. • In case of rendering assistance to personnel exposed to hazardous materials, consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. • Attempt first aid ONLY if trained and qualified.
FIRE EMERGENCY
When fire is discovered : •
Activate the nearest call point.
• If the fire alarm is not available, notify the site personnel about the fire emergency by the following means.

Fight the fire ONLY if: •
To aid the escape from the building if you are suitably trained to do so. Upon being notified about the fire emergency, occupants must: • Immediately cease activity and leave calmly by the nearest safe exit. • All person/s must assemble in an orderly manner within the red areas of the car park and follow instructions from the management team, evacuation marshals or the emergency services. • No one is permitted back into the building until the ‘all clear’ has been given via the management team, evacuation marshals and/ or the emergency services. • Provide the Fire service personnel with the necessary information about the facility. • Ensure that all employees have evacuated the area/floor. • Report any problems to the Emergency service. • Assist all physically challenged employees in emergency evacuation. Once approval is permitted to go back into the building the designated person/s must check firefighting equipment is sufficiently restored back to safe and suitable working order, this may include sprinkler system, water tanks, fire extinguishers, call points and the evacuation alarm system. Coordinate an orderly evacuation of personnel.

EXTENDED POWER LOSS In the event of extended power loss (greater than 2 hours) to the facility certain precautionary measures should be taken depending on the geographical location and environment of the facility: • Unnecessary electrical equipment and appliances should be turned off in the event that power restoration would surge causing damage to electronics and affecting sensitive equipment. • Facilities with freezing temperatures should be turned off. · Fire sprinkler system · Pipework · Catering equipment · Heating systems · Water Systems Consideration should be given to the welfare of employees to include catering facilities, heating systems, rest rooms and toilets. Upon Restoration of heat and power: • Electronic equipment should be brought up to ambient temperatures before energizing to prevent condensate from forming on circuitry. • Fire and potable water piping should be checked for leaks from freeze damage after the heat has been restored to the facility and water turned back on. ASBESTOS AWARENESS We do have some asbestos on site however it is in areas that are currently untouched. However, we do yearly asbestos inspection carried out by Bradley Environmental. If you have any issue with asbestos, please contact the Health & Safety team.
CHEMICAL SPILL The following are the locations of Spill Containment Equipment: Fuel Pump / Racking Locations / Battery Charge areas Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Full PPE to be worn MSDS: Refer to current product document. When a chemical Spill has occurred: • Immediately notify the designated responsible person • Secure the area and alert other site personnel. • Do not attempt to clean the spill. •
Attend to injured personnel and call the medical emergency number, if required. • If toxic fumes are present, secure and restrict the area to prevent other personnel from entering. • Deal with the spill in accordance with the instructions described in the MSDS. • Small spills must be handled in a safe manner, while wearing the proper PPE. BOMB FACTS PRETEND DIFFICULTY HEARING - KEEP CALLER TALKING - IF CALLER SEEMS AGREEABLE TO FURTHER CONVERSATION, ASK QUESTIONS LIKE: When will it go off? Certain Hour Time Remaining Where is it located? Building Area What kind of bomb? What kind of package? How do you know so much about the bomb? What is your name and address? If building is occupied, inform caller that detonation could cause injury or death. Call Security and relay information about the call. Did the caller appear familiar with the plant or building (by his/her description of the bomb location)? Write out the message in its entirety and any other comments on a separate sheet of
paper and attach it to this checklist. Notify your supervisor immediately.
SEVERE WEATHER AND NATURAL DISASTERS
Flood:
If indoors: • Be ready to evacuate as directed by the designated responsible person. • Follow the recommended evacuation routes. If outdoors: • Climb to high ground and stay there. • Avoid walking or driving through flood water. • If a car stalls, abandon it immediately and climb to higher ground. Snow: If indoors: • Stay calm and await instructions from the Emergency Coordinator or the designated official. • Stay indoors! • If there is no heat: - Close off unneeded rooms or areas. - Stuff towels or rags in cracks under doors. - Cover windows at night. • Eat and drink. Food provides the body with energy and heat. Fluids prevent dehydration. • Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing, if available. If stranded in a vehicle • Stay in the vehicle! • Run the motor about ten minutes each hour. • Make yourself visible to rescuers. - Turn on the interior light on at night when running the engine. - Raise the hood after the snow stops falling. • Exercise to keep blood circulating and to keep warm.
CRITICAL ASSETS PROCEDURE IN THE EVENT OF A FAILURE
Water In the event of water leak, burst pipe or frozen pipe, trace the leaking pipework back to the auxiliary shut off valve. These are located in the following areas – • Corner of Battery Room – High Level • Maintenance Room • Main WC’s • Main Cleaners Cupboard • Goods In Cleaner’s Cupboard • Canteen If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 - also refer to Emergency utilities numbers if a major incident. Generator The generator is designed to function on power failure automatically – Do Not Touch. If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 Fuel Tanks Fuel Island, Pump House and the Generator all contain fuel tanks in the event of a chemical spill from the fuel tanks revert to the chemical spill plan. Lighting In the event of a power failure the lighting will last approximately 3 hours If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560
Battery Charging Area In the event of the battery charging area power failure, isolate the electrics. If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 Natural ventilation & the fan system should always remain on to adequately remove hydrogen build up to ensure the lower limit of exposure is maintained to prevent explosion. Gas Leak In the event of a gas leak, a responsible person is to enter the sprinkler room and turn the main gas wheel clockwise until it can go no further to isolate. If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 - also refer to Emergency utilities numbers if a major incident. Canteen Gas Valve In the event of a gas leak, trace (yellow) pipework back to Isolator switch and isolate. If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 – also refer to Emergency utilities numbers if a major incident. Electrical Fault In the event of an electrical fault / electrical damage head to the main switch room located through the Toyota workshop, press the isolator switch, and isolate the electrics. If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 - also refer to Emergency utilities numbers if a major incident.
Fire Alarm In the event of a site evacuation the main alarm panel and zone plan is displayed by the main reception door, verify the area by the zone plan and communicate this to the Arcus technicians and emergency services should it be required. Call points/ smoke heads will turn red if activated. Once identified you can return to normal duties, silence the alarm but do not reset unless an Arcus technician is in attendance. If an Arcus technician is not on site call the Arcus Helpdesk Number 0333 188 7560 Any work on any part of the fire alarm system or sensors must be approved by the Operation Manager. If the alarm is set off by any activity on the site without approval, we will charge the company involved with the cost of the lost time.
