FIRE EMERGENCY

When fire is discovered : •

Activate the nearest call point.

• If the fire alarm is not available, notify the site personnel about the fire emergency by the following means.

Voice Communication.

• • • •

Phone. Radio.

Tannoy system- with security at reception.

Fight the fire ONLY if: •

To aid the escape from the building if you are suitably trained to do so. Upon being notified about the fire emergency, occupants must: • Immediately cease activity and leave calmly by the nearest safe exit. • All person/s must assemble in an orderly manner within the red areas of the car park and follow instructions from the management team, evacuation marshals or the emergency services. • No one is permitted back into the building until the ‘all clear’ has been given via the management team, evacuation marshals and/ or the emergency services. • Provide the Fire service personnel with the necessary information about the facility. • Ensure that all employees have evacuated the area/floor. • Report any problems to the Emergency service. • Assist all physically challenged employees in emergency evacuation. Once approval is permitted to go back into the building the designated person/s must check firefighting equipment is sufficiently restored back to safe and suitable working order, this may include sprinkler system, water tanks, fire extinguishers, call points and the evacuation alarm system. Coordinate an orderly evacuation of personnel.
