2016.The Digital One was installed in the company’s Denver facility in the fourth quarter 2016. Digital One is the newest standalone label press from Mark Andy.A toner-based digital CMYK print en- gine with in-line flexo converting, the hybrid press supports growing global demand for smaller run sizes and quicker turnaround times for prime label work. Since the December installation, the digital press has been running 1-2 shifts per day to alleviate strain on flexographic equipment also acquired through Mark Andy. By the end of 2018, Blair expects to add another digital asset to its repertoire. FPA Publishes Operational Efficiency eBook The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) has re- leased the Operational Efficiency and Consumer Appeal eBook. The eBook was developed to help communicate the findings of the recent FPA Flexible Packaging Transition Advantages Study by summariz- ing and highlighting key take-aways from the study. The Flexible Packaging Transition Advantages Study was commissioned by FPA to better quantify the im- pact of switching from non-flexible packaging to flexi- ble packaging.The study integrates insights from brand owners surveyed online in September 2016 by Packag- ing World and insights from consumers surveyed on- line in September 2016 conducted by Harris Poll.The full report is only available to FPA members, but the Operational Efficiency and Consumer Appeal eBook is available to both members and non-members.
