ICE Europe 2017 Holds 10th Show
The recently held 10th International Converting Ex- hibition, ICE Europe 2017, reported a total of 6,850 visitors from 68 countries. The show welcomed 429 exhibitors from 28 countries, covering a net exhibi- tion space of 11,000 square meters. The biggest exhibitor countries after Germany were Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, the United States, France and the Netherlands. Top ten visitor countries were Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Spain, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. To celebrate the 10th edition of ICE Europe, exhibi- tion organizers Mack Brooks Exhibitions awarded prizes to four exhibiting companies for best practice, excellence, innovation and extraordinary perfor- mance in the converting industry. Winning company in the category ‘Converting Solu- tions for New Materials’ was Infiana Germany for its antistatic release films. The winner in ‘Industry 4.0’ category was Derichs GmbH for its new ED-1 system that delivers data in real time. In the category ‘Green Technology’Applied Mate- rialsWeb Coating GmbH received the award for its Top- Beam platform using electron beam evaporation. Kampf Schneid- & Wickeltechnik’s Converting 4.0 network was selected to receive the award in the cat- egory ‘Innovative Partnerships’. The open Kampf Converting 4.0 network was presented at ICE Europe 2017 for the very first time. FPA Announces 2017 Student Design Winners The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) has an- nounced the winners of FPA 2017 Student Flexible Design Challenge.This year’s first place winners were Benjamin Huber, Brian Kuhns, Cody Marquardt, and Ashley Pratt from University ofWisconsin – Stout. Second place went to Nathan Davis from Iowa State University and Isaac Hines, Ryan Knudtson, and Sam Salewske from University of Wisconsin — Stout. An honorable mention went to Zenia Adiwijaya from Iowa State University. Yunker Industries Joins SGP Yunker Industries, Elkhorn, Wisconsin, has become the newest certified printing facility to join the The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). Yunker became the 69th certified facility in the United States.
