A solid performing Expectations son out of a Power Alliance daughter that was an 11 yr old when she weaned him off at 615 lb. North Star was raised by our friends at Bear Mountain Angus. Similar to his sire, True North, he offers proven calving ease and maternal value with good marbling, yet in a more moderate milk package that we feel works better in our environment. North Star is a little bigger in his frame than his daddy and consistently stamps his calves with a square hip, good length and a very attractive front end. He ranks in the best 15% of the breed for CE, scrotal, TEAT, docility, MARB and $Grid.

DNA verification corrected the sire on this one as we had it wrong. Starting at 67 lb. he went on to wean at 618 lb. on a 2YO cow that weighed 1086 lb. and bred back early to A.I. That’s how I would define a maternally efficient cow. He boasts CE & TEAT EPD's in the top 10% of the breed and is well above average for MARB.
