PUBLIC POLICY ANALYST Public policy involves a variety of career paths that revolve around working with different sec - tions of the government. The essence of public policy, however, is to use your research, commu- nication, curiosity skills to be able to effectively implement policies. In this role, you’ll be able to cater to the needs of the general public while also thinking of abstract and innovative ideas to bring about growth.
Also known as a bioethicist or clinical ethicist, in this position you support medical profession- als, patients and caregivers, in talking through specific cases, making moral decisions and making judgments that are informed by his- tory, religion, culture, sociology, and medicine. You might write institutional policies and you deal with issues concerning privacy, confiden - tiality, communication and understan ding, eu- thanasia, stem cell research. For this job, you need to be a person with good moral character, patience, have good communication and prob- lem solving skills and be able to think logically.
If a large part of your philosophy major consisted of research and analytical skills, this could be the job for you! As a Market Research Analyst, you will be monitoring and forecasting sales in order to provide accurate information for your company and/or client. You’ll be looking for information about market trends in order to measure the effectiveness of a project, marketing strategy or even a campaign.
