History is not all about remembering dates and all the U.S Presidents. In fact, our knowledge of history helps provide a basis for moving forward in the progressive world we live in. As geographer, you will combine your understanding for people, places, cultures, economies, and society all in one. Many companies seek geographers before conducting any big projects on certain locations in order to get a summary of the people that live there and the future of the landscape (probability of natural disasters etc.). They also provide information about how the economy and societal standard have varied over time in the targeted area.
Do you have an eye for picking out valuable things that others overlook? Or working be- ing the scenes and seeing how your work plays out? Then your interest, along with your major, lay very closely to the job of a Curator. As a Curator, you are responsible for manag- ing an array of information that career im- portant historical collections in museum and heritage sites. You would be responsible for seeking out content for the collection, while understanding its history, origin, and cultural aspect, and bringing them to the light. These findings require extensive research and abil - ity to think outside the box in order to find artifacts with significance. However, after do - ing so the impact is long lasting.

Majoring in history has broaden your view on people as a whole, and has a demographer you get to take a closer look at these groups in order to obtain accurate information and assist other sectors in planning ahead.
