Golfing for goodness
Following the success of their golf day last year, which saw over 50 people taking part and nearly £2,000 raised for our national charity partner the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, the South West Area Board is looking to organise another golf day on Friday 10 May to raise money again for the charity. If you’d like to get involved or want to find out more, please contact Iain Kirtley.

New national board representative for Southern Counties Phillip Hall was voted in as FMB National Board Vice President, which enabled the Southern Counties to elect John Ford from Build My Home Ltd as a new regional board member to join the national board at the recent area board meeting. Congratulations to John who will join the national board as one of the FMB’s legal directors. The FMB is run by members for members – and area boards comprise up to 14 Master Builders from the region who’ve been elected by fellow Master Builders. In these regular meetings, board members discuss industry issues and represent the interests of the wider regional membership. A member from each area board also represents the region by joining the FMB National Board of Directors. The elections for the South West and Southern Counties area boards take place in the spring, providing opportunities for members to support the governance of the FMB. Keep an eye out for further details. If you’d like to find out who’s on your area board, or how you could get more involved, please get in touch using the details to the right.

Practical experiences for young people FMB London is committed to giving young people practical experience of construction and trades. It is imperative that we reach the next generation of builders to show them the positive sides of taking up a career in our sector. We will be hosting more school experiences where young people try bricklaying, carpentry, retrofit, painting and decorating, and more. If you would like more information, please get in touch with London Director Sam Eden.
