Hybrid Software Reports Record Labelexpo HYBRID Software reported that the company set new records for both demonstrations and sales at La- belexpo Brussels. More than 500 companies visited HYBRID Soft- ware’s stand for product demos during the four days of Labelexpo, and 27 customers purchased VDP (Variable Data Printing) software from HYBRID at the show. VDP is available as an option for HYBRID Software’s native PDF editors PACKZ and Stepz, with accelerated processing available through HYBRID’s CLOUDFLOW workflow. Mark Andy Reports 20 Press Sales at Labelexpo Mark Andy reported garnering 20 press agreements on the show floor at the latest Labelexpo Europe event, 10 flexo and 10 digital. Live demonstrations were con- ducted daily on the brand new Evolution Series and Digital Pro 3 with semi-rotary, as well as the single source hybrid press, Digital Series HD. Evolution Series, an entry-level full servo flexo press, debuted at the show as did two models of the Digital Pro line.
At a ceremony during the PackBox Forum at Fach- pack 2019 in Nuremberg, Germany, Bobst took home gold in the Sustainability Award for its Ink-on-Demand (IoD) and DigiColor technologies. The award celebrates innovations that bring height- ened eco-friendly credentials to the packaging con- verter supply chain and drive sustainable value. The revolutionary IoD system reportedly eliminates ink trays and chambered doctor blades. It only requires 30g of ink in the print unit to operate. Full wash-out and ink change are performed in minutes with only a few grams of ink and washing liquid wasted, reducing costs and environmental burdens. The DigiColor system complements IoD, perform- ing ‘on-the-fly’ job changes of color Delta E. Each of the seven Extended Color Gamut inks is split into a darker and a lighter ink, which are mixed in-line to match the targeted Delta E. Closed-loop color control of DigiColor achieves color-matching and consistency at any speed, on any substrate, with any operator worldwide, which dramatically cut down wasted resources by elimi- nating the need for costly print re-runs, according to Bobst.
