Making more from less: AXOR's Eco-Design Guidelines
Material management is an essential component of AXOR’s sustainability strategy. Throughout the design, production and extended life of a product, AXOR implements a range of measures to promote a minimal environmental impact.
Closing the Cycle Our products are completely separable by type, allowing exclusively recyclable components to be returned to the material cycle, either via customer recycling or product take-back with subsequent remanufacturing/recycling by Hansgrohe. Less Complexity Through innovative design, AXOR ensures its products consist of components and parts that can be used universally across the portfolio, which reduces complexity and costs.
Less Material AXOR aims to produce material-efficient products by using as little raw material as possible. Furthermore, AXOR strives to find sustainable, environmentally sound alternatives for widely used materials, which is why our products do not use inseparable composites or material mixes.
Less Coating AXOR products are durable even without coating. However, when coatings are necessary, they are
applied using environmentally friendly surface technologies and the lowest possible amount of materials. To ensure the recyclability of components, coating thickness is kept as low as possible.
Staying Clean The design of AXOR products and the choice of materials are intended to prevent dirt and lime deposits and to make effective cleaning possible without the use of aggressive, environmentally harmful cleaners.
