Somatic sensory impulses ascend to the Cerebellum via:

Lateral Column: 4 tracts in the spinal cord: Dorsal Spinocerebellar Tract (pelvic limbs) , Ventral Spinocerebellar Tract (pelvic limbs) , Cuneocerebellar Tract (thoracic limbs) & Rostral Spinocerebellar (thoracic limbs) . These tracts are the major routes for subconscious proprioceptive impulses to reach the cerebellum. These sensory impulses are not consciously perceived and are critical for posture, balance, and coordination of skilled movements.

Special Senses Sensory Pathways

Smell – CN I, olfactory nerve  olfactory bulb  primary olfactory area

Taste – CN VII facial & CN IX glossopharyngeal  solitary nuclei  primary gustatory area

Vision – CN II optic nerve  lateral geniculate nuclei  primary visual area

Hearing – CN VIII vestibularcochlear nerve  cochlear nuclei  primary auditory area

Equilibrium or balance - CN VIII vestibularcochlear nerve  vestibular nuclei  primary somatosensory area & cerebellum
