A new press-fit plumbing system lifted Innovative Product of the Year, praised by judges as a “standout entry with impressive new technology developed with the installer in mind”. Market feedback fed into design of the Tigris K5/M5 Press-fit Plumbing System, with Wavin streamlining the overall pressure testing process, while ensuring accuracy and maintaining a hygienic pipe system. An 80-decibel acoustic alert that ‘whistles’ loud enough for installers to detect unpressed fittings, and a transparent section providing a quick visual check of the pipe insertion, impressed the panel. A multi-jaw feature allowing installers to work with five different types of jaws further contributed to the judges’ decision.
Grant has evolved its celebrated Vortex range, launched in 2001, to be biofuel-compatible for 100% HVO biofuel with minimum modifications. Its latest model uses regular parts while significantly reducing homeowners’ carbon emissions. The boiler has been recognised as “ahead of its time” by multiple award bodies and described by the judging panel as a “great stepping-stone to renewable and sustainable heating solutions”. Judges also praised the product’s cost-efficiency and minimum disruption during installation, with no requirement to swap oil tanks. The biofuel-compatible boiler is also recognised as a great solution for buildings in which it is not possible to use heat pumps.
