So indispensable is Joe Ward to Hevac, the firm plans to hire an apprentice to work alongside the technical support specialist over the next few years to ensure his knowledge and experience are retained within the industry. Starting his career an apprentice with Renick Engineering in Dublin before progressing to pipe fabricator, Joe joined Hevac in 1980 as a commercial & industrial boiler/burner service engineer. After eight years with Hevac, he left to start his own service and installation company, Ashwood Heating Services Limited, while continuing to be Hevac’s primary commercial & industrial commission and maintenance engineer and number one troubleshooter. His reputation is synonymous with a positive attitude, attention to detail, customer service and getting the job done. Training up numerous apprentices, his efforts to support the future of his trade have also extended to partnering with schools to offer vocational career guidance. In February 2023, Joe closed his business and returned to Hevac as a full-time technical support engineer, working primarily with the commercial and industrial team and becoming an integral part of the Hevac team. Joe is also a longtime member of Vincent de Paul, weekly offering his time and assistance to families in need over many years.
