Denise Tuffy, Director of Specialist Contracting CIF.

Denise Tuffy has been appointed Director of Specialist Contracting for the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), taking over the role vacated by Sean Downey. Her previous position as CIF’s Specialist Contracting Executive provided support to the Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Association (M&ECA) during which time she led M&ECA initiatives such as the formation of M&ECA Working Group on Apprenticeships and Recruitment. The M&ECA as an organisation, represents M&E contractors at government level to ensure their voice is heard. This task spans across a range of government departments and activities. MILESTONE ANNIVERSARY FOR ROCA UK

Roca Group, the globally acclaimed bathroom solutions manufacturer, has marked its 30th UK anniversary. Established in 1993 with just seven members, Roca UK has thrived, expanding its focus from local merchants to national distribution, retail, and specification sectors. Alan Dodds took charge as the UK Managing Director in 1999, a year marked by Roca Group’s acquisition of Swiss brand LAUFEN, solidifying its industry position. Under Alan’s leadership, Roca UK achieved consistent market growth, notably uniting Laufen with Roca UK and launching the iconic Roca London Gallery in 2011. Challenges, such as a warehouse fire in 2001, were swiftly overcome, showcasing resilience. Relocating to a larger Bardon facility in 2019 enabled enhanced services for distributors and retailers. In 2022, Alan Dodds transitioned to UK and Ireland Chairman, appointing Rashpal Sidhu as Managing Director, emphasising continued growth. Alan said, “From our modest beginnings to today, what defines our business is our people. I’m excited to see what the future brings.” www.uk.roca.com
