W h e n a h o m e m is s io n a r y sug gested to two farmers that they begin a Christian radio station, im mediately a warm interest was kind led. Dave and Egon Hofer had been busy growing grapes for raisins near Fresno in Dinuba, California. The thought was quite a new departure from their usual labors. However, having been trained at the Bible In stitute of Los Angeles, and already working diligently in the field of Gospel ministry, they made it a mat ter of prayer. On December 22nd, 1946, the sta tion was officially launched on the air. Originally broadcasting with 250 watts of power, the facility has since increased to 1,000 watts. Its broadcast covers the lush central Califomia-San Joaquin Valley, with a population in the area of more than 1,000,000, in cluding Fresno, Tulare and Kings counties. Such well-known broadcasts as “ Back to the Bible,” “Morning Chapel Hour,” “ Bible Institute Hour,” “Haven of Rest,” and others are heard throughout the day. Christians in Central California have come to de pend upon the facility for their daily inspiration.
