TEAM NOTES

STRONGER FOR THE LONG HAUL FROM GARY SASSER

If there’s anything we can say about 2025 so far, it’s that the first part of the year has presented volatility and uncertainty, both in our industry and the economy. Whatever comes our way, I’m confident that we have the best people, the best plan and the best infrastructure. In the meantime, there are many ways we can move forward to a bright future. One is to control the things we can control . That means continuing to deliver outstanding service to our customers. We can also “work smarter, not harder” by staying focused on efficiencies and reducing waste. And we can take advantage of opportunities we have to ask customers for more shipments. Because of The Power of One , we're able to provide any creative and innovative solution they may need, which will strengthen our bill count and build density. Another reason we’re positioned for long-

term success is the infrastructure investments we’ve made, from new or enhanced facilities to top-of-the-line amenities for our associates. When the industry begins to emerge from these recent challenges, we’ll be ready for growth and able to meet that increased demand. All these actions have a long-term impact in the form of Profit Sharing . We share in the effort today, and we share in the reward for the future. Profit Sharing has stood the test of time for several decades, and it will continue to be something we can all count on. Thank you for your commitment to excellence. We’re a better team because of you, and I know we’ll be able to rise above every challenge and come out stronger for the long haul. T m

OPERATING AT PEAK PERFORMANCE We like to say that our Profit Sharing plan allows us to see the results of our efforts in real time. That was certainly the case in the first quarter of this year. Your commitment to excellence allowed us to produce multiple record performances, as well as reduce our workplace injuries. All in all, the result was another strong quarter of Profit Sharing, as an amount equal to 5.2% of your pay was contributed to your 401(k) retirement account . Despite the challenges our entire industry has faced, the total was still more than the average match most companies offer!

Here’s a look at some of the other ways you powered us to an impressive performance: • LTL on-time service was 96.2% , which was our best first quarter on record ! • Companywide cargo claims were a miniscule 0.22% , also our best first quarter on record . That shows your commitment to delivering freight On Time, On Target and Intact! • Companywide workplace injuries were 17% fewer than the first quarter of 2024 • Additionally, companywide preventable accidents stayed steady at 5.78 per million miles Thank you for focusing on the fundamentals! Because of your efforts, we’re able to control our own destiny and stay strong for the future. To see how you make a difference, log in to InsideAveritt.com/Performance . T m

Our Driving Force Is People

‘DOESN’T MATTER WHERE YOU START’

New Service Center Directors Grew In Their Careers

Two of our newest service center directors, DAVID PARKER in Gadsden and DEXTER MCMILLER in Houston, have experienced career growth at Averitt. They also have practical advice that can help you take the next step in your Averitt journey. ‘THE CYCLE JUST CONTINUES’ David came to Averitt in 2000 as a part-time dock associate in Gadsden and eventually went full time. In 2002, David transferred to Birmingham for a regional admin position, then he moved back to Gadsden as a frontline leader. In 2012, David moved to a sales position and stayed there until his recent promotion. “Averitt wants to help you grow, because if Averitt invests in you and you invest in the company, we all do well,” David explains. “The company grows, you grow, and the cycle just continues.” While David did a bit of moving during his career journey, he says there are opportunities that can fit everyone’s personal situation. “The good part about Averitt is, if you need to stay where you are, you can do that,” he says. “I know people who have worked the dock for 30 years, and they like doing that. If you're somebody who wants to move up the ladder, or you want to move from Texas to Virginia, or Miami to Milwaukee, you can do that. Whatever you want to do, there's a spot for you to do that.” STABILITY AND UPWARD MOBILITY Dexter, meanwhile, came to Averitt because his previous employer had been bought out by another carrier. “I could see the writing on the wall, ‘This is not going to last,’” Dexter recalls. “So I tried to get out of there as soon as I could. I knew a lot of people in the industry, so I asked around to a lot of people I respected. They said, We love to Promote From Within, because leaders who have grown up in our culture know what it means to be an Averitt associate, and they know how to pass that culture on to the next generation of associates.

New service center directors DAVID PARKER (above, left) and DEXTER MCMILLER (above, center) have experienced growth in their Averitt careers.

‘Have you thought about Averitt?’” Dexter took their advice and made the move. Once he did, he realized Averitt could be his long-term career home. “I started seeing the structure of the company, and I said, ‘There’s probably a good opportunity here for me to do something more down the road,’” Dexter says. “I’ve been going at it ever since.” When SCOTT HARRIS was promoted to Region 6 Vice President of Sales, Dexter was promoted from his previous role as Director of Corporate Business Development. Dexter says one of the biggest keys to career growth is preparing for that next opportunity. “It doesn’t matter where you start, it’s where you finish,” he says. “If you’re starting on the dock or in operations support or whatever role you’re in, make sure you’re putting forth the effort and work to move up. There are always opportunities that pop up somewhere. But you’ve got to be prepared when the opportunity comes. Whatever level you’re at, master that position and volunteer and learn about other positions so you’ll be ready when those opportunities come up.” Dexter adds that having a team-first mindset is also important. “I’ve always been somebody who is willing to help out,” he says. “And that’s probably one of the things that leadership saw in me. At my previous employer, some of the people were not so willing to help. They were very territorial and not willing to extend that helping hand. I always said that if I ever got into a position where I could help other people, I wanted to do that.” RESOURCES TO HELP YOU GROW If you’re ready to take your next step, we encourage you to check out our Opportunities Page! There, you’ll find a list of open positions by state, a link to our Job Hotline, information about our Leadership Development and Dock- To-Driver Training programs, and video testimonials of how we Promote From Within. food. I didn’t know him at all, but after talking for just 10 or 15 minutes, I could tell he would be a great fit for Averitt. Sure enough, he came on board, and as far as I know, he’s still here today.” But Jennifer's referrals don’t stop at drivers. “A close friend of mine, BREANNA TAYLOR , works with our Inside Sales team and loves her job. Then there’s KIM MAYNARD — when she asked me about Averitt, I knew right away she’d be a great associate. Now, she excels with our Centralized Appointments team. I may not talk to her every day, but when I do, I always send a quick message: ‘Hey, good morning. How are you? Hope you have a great day.’ It’s all about staying connected.” WHAT JENNIFER LOOKS FOR IN A CANDIDATE Jennifer is always on the lookout for associates who fit within the fabric of Averitt's team. “Attitude, willingness, work ethic, and the ability to work with others — these are the main things I look for,” she explains. Averitt prides itself on professionalism, and while there are always opportunities to grow, Jennifer seeks candidates who already embody that mindset and have the ambition to continue improving. THE POWER OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU Jennifer's legacy as a referral champion is proof of the power of the People Like You referral program. By understanding and connecting with people, she helps them find opportunities that align with their goals. Follow in Jennifer’s footsteps and bring like-minded individuals to our team. Jennifer's life has been a balancing act, making sure all the pieces fit together seamlessly. This became evident from the very start of her journey with Averitt. “I was a young college kid just out of high school, and I realized I needed to get a 'big girl' job,” she recalls. "I was hired as a part-time customer service associate while going to college. I would go to class and then work for 20 or 30 hours a week.” A Clearer Picture with Referrals For On Tour Logistics leader JENNIFER COBB, fitting in has never left her... puzzled. Putting the Pieces Together

Over time, Jennifer transitioned from the call center to HR and eventually to On Tour Logistics. Along the way, she engaged with a diverse range of people, developing a deep understanding of what makes Averitt a great place to work. “It all comes down to the people,” she says. “The

passion that everyone here has for their job is incredible. Whether it’s an office associate, a driver, or a mechanic, every role plays a key part in our success.” FINDING THE RIGHT FIT Jennifer’s ability to connect with people has led to some of her best People Like You referrals. “My husband and I travel a lot now. One day, we were at a truck stop getting gas, and I struck up a conversation with a driver while waiting for

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE Facilities Enhancements Keep Us Ready For More Opportunities There’s no time like the present to make sure we’re ready for the future. That’s our philosophy on ensuring our facilities remain state of the art, because building for the future means we’re ready for growth. Some recent examples of that commitment are in Baton Rouge, Shreveport and Knoxville, ranging from interior and exterior updates to parking enhancements and a dock expansion. NOW THAT’S ROUGE THINKIN’ Our upgrades in Baton Rouge have been extensive: • New paint and flooring throughout • Updated men’s and women’s bathrooms • New cabinets, countertops, tables and chairs in the breakroom • New countertops in the dispatch office and cubicles in the main office area • Updated landscaping The facility will also soon receive new signage for the inside and outside. “We are really excited about the work that has been done,” says Baton Rouge Service Center Director MELISSA GOFF . “These upgrades provide more comfort to our associates, and we have a great place that looks great, too. I feel like we have a brand-new facility!” IM‘PORT’ANT CORRIDOR Much like Baton Rouge, our Shreveport service center received many of the same upgrades, as well as a parking lot milling and re-asphalting. Additionally, the facility will soon have new electronic gates.

Our Baton Rouge facility recently underwent extensive enhancements, and those investments are part of our continuing commitment to staying ready for future growth.

“That’s a big thing, because we have so much traffic coming in and out to get fuel, shower and eat,” explains Service Center Director CARLIN CALDWELL . “The electronic gates will make it a lot easier for associates on the weekends, and the security part is important.” Shreveport is a prime location because of its proximity to Interstate 20, making it a key corridor for our over-the-road drivers. “We have probably around 15 Truckload drivers domiciled here,” Carlin says. “And we have a lot who stop on their way through. We're in between Dallas, Birmingham and Atlanta. So we have a lot of traffic with associates who stop to eat, shower and spend the night. The upgrades are very nice for them.” BIGGER DOCK ON ROCKY TOP We’re also currently expanding the dock at our Knoxville service center, and the project will increase our space by 56 doors up to a total of 154. We anticipate completing the expansion in May. “This addition is for the future,” says Service Center Director JEFF PENLEY . “It puts us in position to always be a solutions provider with the capacity to offer and deliver solutions for our customers.” We’re excited about these projects, because they’re made possible by your commitment to outstanding service. And we look forward to seeing what else is in store as we take care of Our Customers, Our Associates and Our Future ! T m

When we go above and beyond to provide excellent service, it shows that Our Heroes Wear Red! These associates went the extra mile to represent Averitt with pride – and our customers said it showed!

THOMAS BANOVICH – Tampa Tommy is absolutely one of the best drivers we've ever had from any LTL company. I love Averitt regardless, but Tommy makes the experience all that much better. He is truly an asset to Averitt. Norman, Stone Hardscapes – Saint Petersburg, FL RONNIE BROWN – Atlanta West Ron faced several challenges with our delivery, including a GPS malfunction that sent him to the wrong location. Despite that, his communication was smooth, and he arrived quickly. The loading dock was packed, but he patiently waited for his turn. When our deliveries blocked the entry, he adjusted and carefully moved them through one of our doors into the hallway without any damage. He

THOMAS GARRETT – Nashville Thomas was so thoughtful. He used some tarps to cover our freight to prevent it from getting wet while it was raining. Companies should hire more drivers like him. He’s a great asset and he did a wonderful job. Ray, Sugar Ray Moving – Hermitage, TN RONALD KLEMM – West Palm Beach Ronald is professional and courteous. I have had incredibly frustrating experiences with other companies. People like him make Averitt one of the best companies to work with. He gets a 10/10 from me. Steve, Ripper's Restaurant – Palm City, FL

handled everything with true professionalism. Lou Ann, Emory University – Atlanta, GA

Making the Most of RTR Points

Watch this video at InsideAveritt.com/RTRpodcast

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES Associates can earn points through a variety of achievements and milestones, and those points can be redeemed for an endless variety of products, tools, experiences, and even special-order products. Our catalog is packed with thousands of items that associates can browse and redeem using their points. “It’s kind of like Amazon,” says ALAINA KING with our associate recognition team. “There’s so much to choose from and we’re always updating with new merchandise. In fact, items are frequently added based on associate feedback.” A SPECIAL ORDER JUST FOR YOU For those who can’t find exactly what they’re looking for, the Red Thinkin’ Rewards team can help source items from outside vendors. This is known as the Just for You order. BRADLEY MARTIN , a driver on our Dedicated Costco account, took advantage of this option to find hard-to-source tractor parts for his collection. “We were able to find those through an outside source and used his points to purchase them,” Alaina explains. The Just for You process allows the team to find items from platforms The Red Thinkin’ Rewards program reflects how we value everyone on the Averitt team.

like Amazon, Best Buy, and many other retailers. Associates interested in submitting a special request can email redthinkin@averitt.com to get started. “If there’s something you want or need, and it’s not in the catalog, we can still find it,” Alaina says. MANY WAYS TO EARN POINTS Red Thinkin’ Rewards points are earned by achieving KPI goals based on efficiency, productivity and quality. Additionally, associates receive points for each five-year service milestone, for every year of safe driving, and for making referrals through our People Like You program. This gives you the opportunity to earn points throughout the year by simply doing what you do best: servicing our customers, supporting your fellow associates, and securing our future. Whether you need tools for the road, a new TV for the living room, or a rare part for a side project, the Red Thinkin’ Rewards program is ready to help.
