Manifattura Testori – a family-owned company has celebrated in 2014 the 110th anniversary from its foundation in 1904. Active in the cruise ship industry since 1950s withthe major international companies. Between the 1960s and the 1970s the company developed an internal test laboratory and built a quality assurance system.
The laboratory is equipped to perform mechanical and chemical tests complying with the main international specifications as well as flame tests for the transport industry. Concept and engineering of new products combining the most advanced production techniques and innovative solutions with state-of-the-art materials. We focus on granting the highest flexibility throughout all the production phases, from the initial prototype up to the bulk production.
In-house full cycle guarantees the reduction of the lead times. Working in many market areas makes available a deep knowledge on materials, production techniques and trends. Technical products
Seat fabrics and velvets They come in a wide range of colors, patterns and compositions, from Trevira CS and FR polyester compositions to wool and wool/polyamide blends . A wide range of aesthetical and technical solution is available, from flat to traditional jacquard weaving and to 3D effect products. We also propose fabrics using special effect yarns and chenilles. Curtain fabrics A range coordinated in terms of color and pattern with the seat products is available,and thematerials are proposed inTrevira CS, FR polyester and wool.
They are suitable for both flat traditional and pleated curtains. The range includes also blackout curtains in various qualities.
Bedcover fabrics
We are able to satisfy the requests for all the applications used for this range of products, from traditional full-size bedcovers to bed runners, bedskirts and bed headboard coverings. The compositions reflect the same standards used for the other ranges, Trevira CS/flame retardant polyesters and wool, as well as are studied to coordinate with the other interior products.
Wall covering This range has always been a peculiarity of our offer. We can propose several solutions inNomex complying withthe demanding Heat Release criteria, which come in numerous styles from flat weaving to 3D jacquards which are able to give a relief effect to the decoration of the panels. Prestigious customers have selected our products to give to their cabins a luxury and exclusive look together with the textile effect which is not achievable with traditional wall covering materials.
Genuine leathers We complete our range of seat products with a collection of leathers. The range includes ligh weight versions from 600 grs per sm to standard and premium versions, available in different grains and surface finishings. The products are suitable for both seating/bedding applications as well as for panel covering. Customer colors as well as special embossed effectscan be reproduced in quick terms.
Faux leathers We have introduced this range to conform with the limitation imposed by the European regulation REACH to some materials such as PVC, and have developed a widecollectionofproducts which are made witha polyurethane(PU) coating on textile supports. This provides a very wide range of possible combination between supports (stretch or plain), surface effects – obtained from both special transfer papers and from cylinders – and colors. The product guarantees durability, reduced weight and easy on-site maintenance and cleaning. The package is completed withtheavailability inquick terms oflab dips to reproduce customer colors and appearances.
Technical products
Fire blockers: we provide a long term experience achieved through the development of a range ofproducts which ensure high protectionagainst fireforall the possible applications and seat dress cover/foam combinations. The materials use the latest solutions in terms of technical fibres – meta and para-aramide – with weaving techniques to suit any possible situation. Laminated products: starting from the above described range of fire blockers we propose also a range of laminated products, which can combine dress cover products with any fire blocking substrate.
Services provided by Manifattura Testori Laboratory:
Our internal laboratory has a very long experience in performing the main tests, and is used both in the engineering phase for a new product and for the formal controls on each delivered prototype or production batch. Today it is officially certified by Italian Aviation Authority – ENAC – to perform the Vertical Flame test, the Smoke and Toxicity test and the Oil Burner test. The equipment includes also the main mechanical tests – Martindale wear test, tear strength and elongation, pilling test – as well as the machines to assess the colour fastness (to artificial light, to washing, chemicals and torubbing).
Ready-made textile products: We have also the capability to propose products for the different applications, suchas: Seat covers (fixed or removable) Curtains Bedcovers and bedrunners and are able to provide all the necessary assistance throughout the concept and prototype phases so to get to the desired product.
Products from stock: to satisfy the requests of the customers for immediate availability of off-the- shelf products which can guarantee the continuity to their production line and fast deliveries to the final customers we have available a wide selection of products from stock. The stock collection includes seat fabrics, curtain fabrics, genuine and faux leathers.
Quality and Certifications
Virgin Atlantic suites
Manifattura Testori Quality System is certified by Lloyd’s Register under the European Community directive 96/98 EC and subsequents, up to 2014/93/EU. Thanks to this we can certify with the EC Certificate of Conformity – Module D that our products comply with the Marine European Directive. All the product ranges are certified againts the fire standards specified by the above Directive for the different applications.
