THE CANDIDATE
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Strong strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to make sense of a range of complex information (including financial information) and to develop clear recommendations for action appropriate for the target audience. • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels. • An intellectual curiosity, openness to learning and ability to innovate to achieve results. • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to engage peers and develop credibility working with senior leaders. • Good administration skills and attention to detail. • A high level of proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel for data analysis and Word for written reporting. • Experience of energy management activities in a multi-site portfolio setting. • Experience of funding bid preparation and application
The successful candidate should have a strong interest in energy/environmental issues and ideally will have, or be willing to work towards, a formal qualification (IEMA or similar).
You should already have:
• Knowledge of energy / environmental issues and a desire to learn more in order to influence change. • Knowledge of the energy market in the UK is essential. • Evidence of leadership including ‘lateral’ and upwards leadership (influencing individuals, teams and organisations outside your line of management/outside United Learning). • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and in a compelling way for a range of audiences.
