6.1 Staff Development
Description
AfriLabs recognizes that the skills and knowledge of its employees are critical to the success of the Organisation. The Staff Development program encourages personal development through formal and informal education so that employees can maintain and improve job-related skills or enhance their ability to compete for reasonably attainable jobs within AfriLabs.
Procedure
AfriLabs invests in staff development with the expectation that the investment will be returned through enhanced job performance. Subject to the availability of funding for employee development which is to be derived at the beginning of the financial year, staff would be required to follow the below guidelines in gaining access to the Learning and development funds; Employees are to fill and submit a request alongside the publication approved by their supervisor to the People Management office detailing the; • Objectives of the Course • Facilitating Organisation • Total Cost of the Course • Venue and • Relevance of the course to the employee’s role • Any other vital information The request would all be compiled, reviewed for budget preparation by the People Management team for the Senior Management’s review and planning • Course Title • Duration of the course • Proposed Date of the Course
