Duration

The minimum duration of an Internship shall be for three (3) months renewable on a quarterly basis up to a period of 1 year. Every quarterly contract renewal should be submitted to People Management in writing by the Supervisor.

Supervision

An intern shall have a designated supervisor who will be responsible for providing orientation and supervision. This will be someone who will be available to the intern on a regular basis, and who possesses expertise in the area in which the intern will work.

7.2 Benefits

Compensation Employees are entitled to a monthly salary based on their location and employment terms. Compensation for Nigerian-based employees is subject to a 5% withholding tax, while compensation for Pan-African employees is subject to a 10% withholding tax in line with applicable regional requirements. Internet and Fuel Nigeria-based interns will be entitled to a monthly stipend for internet and fuel, subject approved amount and periodic renewal. Birthday Stipend All employees will be entitled to 50USD or its equivalent as a stipend to celebrate their birthdays. Leave Management for Interns At AfriLabs, we do understand that rest is sacrosanct, and as such do encourage employees (full-time and part-time) to always take time off to take some rest, refresh and resume. On this note, interns are entitled to 12 working days of Annual Leave, 2 days of Sick Leave, and 3 days of Compassionate Leave (death of parents, spouse, siblings, or children. This can only apply after 3 months of satisfactory performance review.
