11.1 Employment Cessation
Description
Continued employment with the organisation is subject to certain conditions. The most important of these is the need for the employee’s services, the continuance of the program in which the employee works, and the employee’s conduct and efficiency. On the employee’s last workday, he/she should submit all the properties of the organisation in his/her custody to the People Management department. These items would be verified and accepted before the employee can receive any final payoff.
11.2 Resignation
The employee may voluntarily end her/his employment by providing written notice through his/her supervisor to the People Management or his/her designee giving at least one (1) month prior to the effective resignation date. Vacation shall not be taken from the time that an employee gives notice until her/his last day of employment without prior approval of the appropriate supervisor.
11.3 Retirement
Under Nigerian law, employees may, at their option, retire at the age of 60, at which time they may become eligible for retirement benefits and the National Pension Scheme Authority, subject to conditions.
