Snow + Water

When we were looking for true adventurers put our products through their paces in a harsh winter environment, Sweden was the clear choice. We tend to avoid using models on Red shoots and instead track down real adventurers, people that actually live and breath what we want to capture. Then we just go along for the journey. So, the Red team set off on a week-long adventure to the Nordics with our photography and film crew in tow to capture all of the action. Call time on day one was pre-sunrise, with frost on the ground and the cold air biting our finger tips we met Jessica and Ellias for the first time. We had spoken to them several times via email so it was great to put faces to their names. They were to be our urban explorers and their stomping grounds were the streets and waters of Stockholm. It was a stunningly crisp morning and exactly what we had hoped for. Drysuits at the ready our two city explorers were testing out our Compact boards. The Compact is in its element in the city and Stockholm being surrounded by water was the perfect match for this epic board. Unrolling the boards and getting them pumped up was a great way to get warmed up before hitting the water. The fog of breath from Jessica and Ellias’ mouths indicated they were warm and ready to go. Launching from Skeppsholmen island meant we had the beautiful backdrop of Gamla Stan for this paddling trip and what a stunning combination it was, the boards, the paddlers, the location and of course the weather. We could not have asked for a better start to this intensive shoot, but that was not the end of day one.
