The sound of 91 huskies desperately wanting to start a day of running through the snow is not a noise I will forget any time soon. Our guides for the next few days were Ida and Bjorn. As I mentioned before, when arranging a photoshoot, we always try to use ‘models’ that actually live the life that we are portraying. Ida and Bjorn are the perfect example of this. Both are professional mushers who each live with their lead pack dog to help forge a closer connection - this seems key to the system; the dogs know their leader and the leaders know their master. I could sense the trust that they had with their animals and it was amazing to observe the fundamentals of nature and see the natural pecking order and discipline in action.
