Greif To Raise Containerboard Prices On January 1 Delaware, Ohio based Greif announced its plans to im- plement containerboard price increases of $70/ton on linerboard and $100/ton on medium, according to press reports. Greif is among the latest of the largest packaging manufacturers planning new year price increases starting January 1. Chief Financial Officer Larry Hilsheimer made the an- nouncement during a call with investors earlier this month saying that the current demand supports the increase. Other companies intending to raise prices in 2025 in- clude Packaging Corporation of America, International Pa- per, Georgia-Pacific and Smurfit Westrock. Analysts attribute the price increases largely to elevat- ed OCC costs.
