#AFFILIATEDFAMILY YEARBOOK
DEAR CENTRAL SERVICES,
2019 and 2020 were a wild ride. We faced many challenges that proved how tough this group really is. Although 2020 was not an easy year, it was a year filled with success, triumph, and togetherness. This yearbook is our first annual yearbook showcasing our team, our events, our laughter, our fun, and our success. As you will see, CENTURY 21 Affiliated is more than a company. We are the #AffiliatedFamily. We welcome you to take a look at our personal and professional triumphs and accomplishments.

Affiliated Family History
CENTURY 21 Affiliated is the world’s top producing CENTURY 21® real estate company, with locations in six states and over 2,700 top professionals. But don’t let the fame and fortune fool you, CENTURY 21 Affiliated beginnings were humble. In 1978, Bill Kessler purchased a CENTURY 21 Franchise after taking out a loan on his carpeted blue “hippie” van and created CENTURY 21 A-K Realty with partner Gene Anderson. After the market crash in the early 80’s, he proposed the merger of three local CENTURY 21 companies, creating CENTURY 21 Affiliated. Through 25 years of booms and crashes, successes and failures, Bill was ready to retire but didn’t want CENTURY 21 Affiliated to have to close as a result. Dan Kruse, who joined CENTURY 21 Affiliated in 2000, seemed like a perfect fit. In 2009, Dan was named President and CEO, and in 2016 Dan obtained sole ownership in the company. In 2011 CENTURY 21 Affiliated expanded into Illinois and Northern Indiana. In 2014, they partnered with Jasen Schrock to grow the Affiliated brand in the state of Michigan. In 2017 CENTURY 21 Affiliated expanded their footprint in Florida, and in 2019 opened their first office in Minnesota. Throughout the past 40 years, CENTURY 21 Affiliated’s strong, creative team became the framework to achieve future endeavors and kept them positioned as a world leader. Some of CENTURY 21 Affiliated’s major accomplishments have included : • In 1992, CENTURY 21 Affiliated is honored as the most productive CENTURY 21 in the world out of 6234 brokerages • In 2002, CENTURY 21 Affiliated is named a TOP 10 Broker in the nation • From 2013 – 2016 CENTURY 21 was recognized as the No. 1 Franchise in the world based on units sold • In 2015, CENTURY 21 Affiliated breaks the CENTURY 21 world record of most closed transaction – 12,036. CENTURY 21 Affiliated also established the Affiliated Foundation to support local charities, including Easter Seals • From 2017 - 2020 CENTURY 21 Affiliated is recognized as the No. 1 CENTURY 21 franchise in both commissions earned, and units sold – this is a first for any CENTURY 21 brokerage. • In 2018, CENTURY 21 Affiliated celebrated their 40th Anniversary • In 2020, CENTURY 21 Affiliated was named the No.1 CENTURY 21 franchise in the world for the seventh time, and also holds the record in AGC (100 Million) and closed transactions (21,600)

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT AFFILIATED? Everyone seems to GENUINELY care about one another. And are always ready to jump in and lend a helping hand regardless of position or department.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT AFFILIATED? Having come here from a different state and knowing no-one when I moved here, I have found so many great friends. I also love how respected I feel from both my co-workers and Leadership. I know my opinion and value matters here! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT AFFILIATED? I love that new ideas, concepts, tools, etc. have always been encouraged and welcomed to be explored which shows that our leadership is able to look ahead and embrace opportunities. It truly is a family oriented and family-first culture, which is hands down it’s best feature.

WHAT’S YOUR MOST UNIQUE LIFE STORY? I was in Sydney, Australia doing a cage-less shark dive with my sister. All of a sudden, a stingray (the size of a queen sized bed) swam up to me, wrapped its fins around me, and proceeded to give me a giant hug! I stayed still and didn’t move and then it just swam away. WHAT’S YOUR MOST UNIQUE LIFE STORY? When I met my husband he was doing medical standby on a movie set for “The Ghost and the Darkness”. He had to calm Val Kilmer down because he freaked out over a spider bite! He was able to meet Michael Douglas too, and walk around with the trained lions on leashes.
WHAT’S YOUR MOST UNIQUE LIFE STORY? At the 2019 CENTURY 21 One21 Event in Vegas, Tom Bretz asked me if I liked “The Office” and Mindy Kaling. I said yes to both, and Tom took me to meet Mindy Kaling after the General Session. Fun fact - I’ve never watched “The Office” before.” WHAT’S YOUR MOST UNIQUE LIFE STORY? MY MOM WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL WITH BRAD PITT! I also went to the 2009 VMAs in New York City with my Mom (I won tickets from a radio show). It was the one that Kanye West got on stage with Taylor Swift and interrupted her while she was giving a speech.

WHAT’S YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING STORY? I fell through a display window in the Oak Brook Mall (outdoor mall) in Illinois.
WHAT’S YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING STORY? I wore a boho type skirt with an elastic waist and squatted down in a grocery store to get something off the lowest shelf. When I stood up, my heels had snagged my skirt and it fell down around my feet. My best friend laughed until she was crying. We still laugh about it! WHAT’S YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING STORY? When I was young, my parents signed me up for a camp called “Backpacking the Porkies” and I got mad because I thought it was fat camp. Turns out it was just hiking through the Porcupine Mountains
